About the Editing AuthorElizabeth Rieger is a Senior Lecturer and Clinical Psychologist in the School of Psychology at the University of Sydney. She specialises in eating disorders and obesity in her research and clinical work. The instrument on motivation to change in anorexia nervosa that she developed as part of her doctoral research (the Anorexia Nervosa Stages of Change Questionnaire) has attracted international attention and is currently being widely utilised by researchers and clinicians in the United States and Europe. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the Centre for Eating and Weight Disorders (University of California, San Diego and San Diego State University) where she was trained in interpersonal psychotherapy. She is a member of the Eating Disorders Research Society and is currently the chief investigator for a funded study evaluating the effectiveness of cognitive behaviour therapy for obesity. Elizabeth has 15 years of experience as a Clinical Psychologist. Her clinical experience has included treating adults with eating disorders, medical patients with accompanying psychological problems, and obese children and adults in public and private hospitals, university clinics, and private practice. She has also been involved in teaching clinical skills to diverse populations including general practitioners, nurses, clinical psychologists, medical students, and clinical psychology students.
