Emily Batho Emily Batho has taught at St Johns College in Dubbo for four years and currently holds an assistant Pastoral Care Coordinator position in addition to her teaching role. She runs tutorials outside of school time to assist her HSC CAFS and PDHPE students. Emily has delivered several presentations for ACHPER (The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation) in both HSC PDHPE and Community and Family Studies and was involved in reviewing first year University programs in PDHPE for the NSW Institute of Teachers’ Initial Teacher Education Committee Panel. Emily is actively engaged in girl’s rugby as the coach of the St Johns College team. Rebecca May Rebecca May has been teaching PDHPE since 1996 and began teaching CAFS more then eight years ago. Currently at Dubbo College, Senior Campus, Rebecca has been a writer and presenter for ACHPER HSC Enrichment Days for CAFS for the last three years. She is also the facilitator for the Core of Life program, an early parenting course funded by NSW Health. Lauren Miller Lauren has been teaching Personal Development, Health and Physical Education in NSW for more than eight years and currently holds the responsibility of Year Coordinator in addition to her teaching role. A contributor to ACHPER Community and Family Studies Year 12 Enrichment days as a writer and presenter, Lauren was also responsible for the implementation of CAFS at her current school three years ago. Kim Mitchell Kim Mitchell is a PDHPE teacher who has been teaching CAFS for the past eight years. As a project officer with the K-12 Curriculum Directorate of the Department of Education and Training, she developed materials for CAFS, trained teachers statewide and provided feedback to the NSW Board of Studies regarding the Stage 6 CAFS course. In addition to this she has worked closely with ACHPER NSW as a CAFS consultant to review, develop and present material for HSC enrichment days and has also presented various webinars for the CAFS course. Kim’s interest in the Community and Family Studies course has motivated her to develop her own wiki site for CAFS teachers, which now has over 100 registered members. Kelly Pfeiffer Kelly Pfeiffer holds a Masters of Education (Administrational Leadership) and has taught in the DET as a targeted graduate (PDHPE teacher). Currently at St Johns College in Dubbo NSW, Kelly works as a senior student tutor in PDHPE and CAFS and teaches study skills, learning styles analysis and time management techniques. She is also the Western Region representative for the PDHPE Teachers Association. As a member of the Initial Teacher Education Committee Panel for the NSW Institute of Teachers, Kelly was involved in reviewing and assessing initial university level teacher education programs. Since 2005 she has been a presenter and writer at ACHPER HSC Enrichment Days for CAFS and PDHPE and recently received and appreciation award from ACHPER for her contributions. |
