Exercise 8 involves a study of members of the protist phyla Sarcomastigophora, Apicomplexa, and Ciliophora. Descriptions of both living and slide materials are included. A demonstration of feeding by Paramecium on stained yeast illustrates the formation of endocytic food vacuoles.
