When a person starts a business, it is important to research the market in the community where the business will be located. Visit Statistics Canada at http://www.statcan.ca to see the ease of obtaining important information about your community. Click on "Profiles" and find a community that interests you.

Write a 1- to 2-page memo to your instructor explaining the types of information available there and how they would help you in planning a business of your choice.
