Teachers and Families
Communication between the school and family is an important consideration for teachers. How will you maintain an effective school–family communication link? Interview several teachers from local schools about how they foster these links. Talk with a kindergarten teacher, an elementary-level teacher, an intermediate-level teacher, and a high-school teacher. Choose a few of their best practices and merge these strategies into a proposal that you could include in your portfolio

A Plan for Diversity
Canadian families differ socioeconomically, ethnically, and culturally. Develop a five-year plan outlining how you will prepare yourself to meet the challenges presented by students and parents with such diverse backgrounds. Include some of the strategies you are prepared to implement, and include a copy of your plan in your portfolio.
