Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences
Visit the Online Learning Centre to link to personality profiles and learning-style instruments. Many sites allow you to take such intelligence profiles online and then provide you with interesting information similar to the multiple intelligences ideas of Howard Gardner. Try one of the online quizzes and see whether the results agree with your assessment of yourself. How would you classify your temperament? What are the implications of your personality traits in the classroom? What are the strengths and challenges that a teacher with these traits would have? What strategies do you see yourself using to accommodate students who may have frames of mind or preferences for learning that are different from your own?
