The third edition of Biochemistry: The Molecular Basis of Life is a major revision. Some chapters have been rearranged, divided into two chapters, or deleted. Individual chapters have been reorganized. Most chapters have been substantially rewritten, in addition to being updated. Numerous new with-in and end-of-chapter questions have been added. The book design and art program are being reworked so that both readability and understanding of difficult concepts are vastly improved. To provide insight into the research underpinnings of modern biochemistry and molecular biology, a new set of boxed material is being introduced into most chapters. These essays, called Biochemical Methods, focus on the most important classic and current laboratory techniques.
