Writing

Read the letter from your new pen pal, and then answer the questions about her. Use complete sentences, following the example.

Dear Pen Pal,

My name is Tanya Simone. I am 27 years old. I was born in Russia, but I moved to the U.S. when I was two. I live in New York now. I live with my husband John and our two cats. I work at a community center. I help people find jobs.

I like to sing. I sing in a rock band. The band is called Bucolic, and we play alternative rock music. Sometimes I sing songs in Russian, but usually I sing in English. I like to go to museums and galleries and to see photography exhibits.

I don't watch TV, but I rent movies a lot. My favorite movies are comedies. I like them because they make me laugh and help me feel good. I don't rent sad or depressing movies. I like documentaries too because I always learn something new and interesting.

Sincerely yours,

Tanya Simone
