Making Changes

While Andre was becoming successful in San Francisco, Carolina was having a difficult time in New York. She wasn't learning English fast enough. She wasn't making friends, and she wasn't earning any money. She decided to move into the dormitory at her college. Her roommate, Sylvie, was from Toronto, Canada. Sylvie was working in a restaurant. She helped Carolina get a job there. Carolina was so happy. She was speaking English all the time. She was also earning money and meeting people.

While she was working, she met the other waiters, waitresses, and chefs. She was learning a lot about the restaurant business, too. One night, when she went to the kitchen for an order, the chef smiled at her. Then he asked her out on a date. They went out dancing after work. While they were dancing, Carolina was thinking about the changes in her life.
