Stock Investor Pro Questions

Please use your AAII Stock Investor Pro CD to complete the following exercises.

1.
Question 13 asks about the sensitivity of three industries (automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and housing) to the business cycle. Using the Custom Field Editor, create fields for the percentage change in revenues over each of the seven years of data available in Stock Investor Pro. Create a View containing these fields, and run a Statistical Summary report to derive the averages of these fields for GM, Ford, and Daimler-Chrysler. Compare the patterns in these averages with the pattern in real GDP.
2.
Isolate those companies with an SIC code of 283x that represent the pharmaceutical industry using the Screen Editor, and perform the same analysis as in exercise 1 for those companies.
3.
Isolate those companies with an SIC code of 15xx that represent the housing industry using the Screen Editor and perform the same analysis as in exercise 1 for those companies.
