The Mead Project: Foundational Documents in Sociological Social Psychology

A website maintained by Lloyd Gordon Ward and Robert Throop at Brock University. This site is devoted to providing on-line access to Mead's original publications. The site includes links to 116 of Mead's published articles, and links to 78 unpublished articles. It also provides timelines of Mead's life and career, as well as extensive materials on Dewey, James, Baldwin, Cooley, Thomas, Veblen, and Sapir.

This website is part of a larger project that explores the heritage of pragmatic philosophy, as well as its relationship to social theory. In particular, the section on the Chicago School places George Herbert Mead's work in its pragmatic context and provides links to social activists and philosophers who worked alongside and influenced Mead. The site also contains a section where it describes Mead's connection to Thomas and Park.

The site includes discussion forums, maps of phenomenology's intellectual history, descriptions of important phenomenological scholars, and a glossary of important phenomenological terms.
Qualitative Methods Workbook

An on-line workbook designed by C. George Boeree to develop and enhance qualitative research skills. The website provides illustrations, examples, and exercises to help train qualitative researchers. Boeree takes a phenomenological approach, although sections on participant observation and interviewing are very relevant for symbolic interactionist research.
