Additional Lab Activities- Make a list of your five favorite foods and/or beverages. Assess the nutritional
value of each of these items by analyzing their labels.
- For five days, keep track of the number of fat grams you consume each day.
Analyze this amount; then come up with a fat consumption plan. (i.e., if it
is too high, where can substitutions be made? etc.)
- Take a menu from the cafeteria dining hall and identify the foods high in
fiber, low in fat, high in salt, sugar, etc.
- Plan a party menu with nutritious snacks and foods.
- Looking at each of the ten 2000 Dietary Guidelines for Americans,
devise a personal action plan for yourself for each of the guidelines.
