Additional Lab Activities- Search for and collect advertisements that you perceive to be fraudulent
or examples of quackery.
- Investigate a recent health announcement/discovery (e.g., "Caffeine
causes cataracts,""Vitamin E prevents cancer," etc.) by evaluating
the source and quality of the study.
- Make a list of all the ways your campus promotes and/or discourages a wellness
lifestyle. (Consider all seven dimensions.)
- Select a business or company in your community and investigate the ways
it promotes wellness among its employees.
- Collect newspaper articles that list crimes, acts of violence, or accidents.
List some of the preventive measures that could have prevented the situation.
- Interview a couple that has been married 25-plus years. List that couple's
"secrets to a successful marriage."
- Other than the ones listed in the textbook, list and discuss two more wellness
trends and challenges for the future.
