Changing Behavior
Additional Lab Activities- In each of the seven dimensions of wellness, identify a behavior that you
would like to add, eliminate, or change in order to enhance your wellness.
List the pros and cons of changing.
- For each of the above habits, list the obstacles that you face in making
the change. What strategies can you use to overcome these obstacles?
- Interview a person who has successfully changed a behavior (stopped smoking,
integrated exercise into their daily life, lost weight and kept it off, etc.).
List their "secrets" for success.
- Keep a daily log of one of your habits (When do you do it? How often? Under
what circumstances? etc.).
- Investigate campus or community resources which could be employed in support
of behavior change: i.e., smoking cessation classes; stress management workshops,
etc.
