Changing Behavior

Additional Lab Activities

  1. In each of the seven dimensions of wellness, identify a behavior that you would like to add, eliminate, or change in order to enhance your wellness. List the pros and cons of changing.
  2. For each of the above habits, list the obstacles that you face in making the change. What strategies can you use to overcome these obstacles?
  3. Interview a person who has successfully changed a behavior (stopped smoking, integrated exercise into their daily life, lost weight and kept it off, etc.). List their "secrets" for success.
  4. Keep a daily log of one of your habits (When do you do it? How often? Under what circumstances? etc.).
  5. Investigate campus or community resources which could be employed in support of behavior change: i.e., smoking cessation classes; stress management workshops, etc.
