Chapter 7 Key Terms

This glossary contains a list of important terms used in the text. Both the terms and their meanings are presented. This list is not intended to be exhaustive. For example, many of the HTML concepts are not included, but can easily be traced through the index.
deprecated tag  An HTML tag that should no longer be used because it is being phased out of the language.

footer  The content displayed at the bottom of a Web page.

semantic-based style type  An HTML style that pertains to meaning; for example, emphasis and citation.

syntactic-based style type  An HTML style that pertains to form, not meaning; for example, boldface and italics.
