Engineering Equation Solver (EES) Software

What is Engineering Equation Solver, or EES?

EES has been developed by faculty for use in thermoscience courses. Thermodynamic and transport property data are an integral part of the program. EES is a general equation solver with built-in functions for thermodynamic and transport properties. EES can also be used to solve differential and integral equations, do optimization, provide linear and non-linear regression, and generate publication-quality plots. The power of EES becomes evident in sophisticated problems involving solution of simultaneous non-linear equations, parametric studies for design, and optimization. Because EES has an intuitive interface that is easy for students to learn, such problems can be assigned for daily homework. SI units can be used instead of English units by changing the unit specifications using the Unit System command in the Options menu. The 2001 version of EES now available is a stand-alone 32 -bit program, which runs on Windows 95/98, NT 3.5/4.0 and Windows 2000.

The educational version of EES is distributed FREE by McGraw-Hill for use by students and faculty in educational departments that adopt selected McGraw-Hill textbooks.
