Exercise 1

Goal: This activity is designed to get students engaged in the interview process and realize how important it is to do preliminary work in order to make the job interview a success. This is also a good forum to talk about different ways to answer questions.

Instructions: Your task is to select a classified ad in your career area from the postings at www.hotjobs.com, and then prepare at least five questions you think you might be asked in a job interview with this company. After you have written some questions, go to the company's website and prepare answers to those questions based on what you find from your research. When you have your questions answered, share them with someone else in class and ask them to critique your answers in order to strengthen them.
