Humanities  Broad areas of human creativity and study essentially involved with values and generally not using strictly objective or scientific methods.
Values  Objects and events that we care about, that have great importance. Also, in regard to color, value refers to the lightness or darkness of a hue; shading.
Sensa  The qualities of objects or events that stimulate our sense organs, especially our eyes. See sensuous.
Subject matter  What the work of art "is about"; some value before artistic clarification. See content.
Artistic form  The organization of a medium that clarifies or reveals a subject matter. See subject matter, content, decorative form, and work of art.
Perception  Awareness of something stimulating our sense organs.
Abstract painting  Painting that has the sensuous as its subject matter. See representational painting.
