Chapter Overview| A Dimension of Human Sexuality...Adult Sexuality. The greatest challenge of adulthood is the formation of intimate relationships both sexual and nonsexual. As adults we expend a lot of energy in dating, living together, marriage, divorce, and extramarital affairs. Some of the challenges of adulthood will bring happiness, other challenges will bring sadness. Additionally, we are all aging and what we do or not do today may affect the speed at which we age. To facilitate changing society's attitudes about sexuality and aging we must understand the importance of sexuality for the aged, and remember that someday we too may be part of the "older" generation. |
