Masters and Johnson found in their research that people followed the same basic physiological pattern of sexual response. Additionally, sexual problems can happen to anyone at any time. Difficulties in sexual functioning may be transient or continual. Types of sexual dysfunctions include disorders of desire, disorders of arousal, disorders of orgasm, pain producing problems, and dysfunctions due to medical conditions. To understand your own sexual response or potential sexual problems will allow you to fulfill your own sexual desires, as well as your partner's.
