She has asked you to talk to them about high-risk behaviors––what they are, how kids get involved with them, the consequences, and how to avoid getting involved. Which issues would be important for you to address, what would you tell them about each of these, and what suggestions would you have for avoiding them?

Your favorite aunt and uncle have come to you because they say they cannot understand their teenage daughter. One minute she’s loving and adoring, the next she’s a total monster. They try to comfort her when she’s upset, but she screams, “You can’t possibly understand how I feel”; if she is having a “bad hair day,” she refuses to go out in public, even to accompany them to religious services. How would you explain these behaviors to your aunt and uncle, and what would you suggest for helping them work with their daughter?
