2) Go to the Women Peace Officers Association of California website at www.wpoaca.com and search under "Archives." Learn more about the first female officer, Alice Stebbin Wells, and the history of other female officers in law enforcement. Search for other women police associations on the web and obtain their history. When were the first female officers hired? What roles did they play in police departments? What were their responsibilities?
