Content was updated, particularly on the subjects of energy supply, global warming, the solar system, and the structure and evolution of the universe. Other recent findings and ideas were also incorporated where appropriate.
Coverage has been expanded by adding new material, mainly through the incorporation of 23 new sidebars.
