| Surf Your Watershed
What are the water sources like where you live? Go to the EPA's water quality website, "Surf Your Watershed," at cfpub.epa.gov/surf/locate/index.cfm and enter your zip code below the map image. When one or more watershed ID numbers are returned to you, select one, and look at the information about your area. What are water quality conditions like in your area? What are some of the threats to water quality? Now look at the map of your state (or another you are interested in) by going to cfpub.epa.gov/surf/locate/map2.cfm. As you roll over the map of the state, the water quality indicator will change on the right side of the state map. Which watersheds are worst? Why? |
