- Invite a dermatologist or other professional to speak to the class about skin conditions, skin disease, and their care. He or she may wish to discuss specific conditions that pose a serious threat to the athlete's health and to others.

- Select a recreational drug to research. What are the physiological responses to it, and what dangers does it pose to the athlete?
- How can an athlete who is abusing drugs be identified? Describe behavioral identification and drug testing.
- Discuss menstrual irregularities that occur in highly active athletes. Why do they occur? How should they be managed? How do they relate to reproduction? What is the female athletic triad and how can it be prevented?
