I Love My Job

Lou: Hi, ladies. How are you? I'll start with your two, iced teas, right?

Announcer: Her name is Louella Brennan, but everyone just calls her Lou.

Man: People just love her.

Announcer: That's obvious. Lou has been waiting tables at Nicolosi's Restaurant for forty years.

Lou: Why should I change if I love it? I've never been unhappy one day at Nicolosi's. And these are our lunch specials...

Announcer: She's waited on three generations of the same families, and always, always with a smile.

Lou: Are you ready, or you want a little more time?

Man: She's never mad. She never has a bad word for anyone. I mean, she's the closest person to a saint that I would know.

Lou: Well, I just live by my mother's adage, “Kill people with kindness.” So that's what I try.

Announcer: And Lou knows her customers, what everybody orders.

Lou: They order meals with a very juicy cheese pizza.

Announcer: She started at Nicolosi's in January of 1960, when Eisenhower was president.

Lou: The Stones, with a pizza--half pepperoni, half cheese.

Announcer: So what do these ladies order?

Lou: Soup and salad.

Announcer: Let's see if she's right.

Lady 1: I'm going to have the soup and salad.

Lou: Soup and salad, OK...The Browns? Raviolis mixed, half order is baked.

Announcer: Lou has no plans to retire, shows no signs of slowing down.

Lady 2: There's nothing to say about Lou except she's absolutely wonderful.

Lou: The Johnsons, three specials, one heated, and the other one, no onions.

Lady 3: If Lou's on duty, we always get Lou's tables, and if not we complain, and we get a table someplace else and Lou takes care of us.

Announcer: She is a woman who loves her job, and her customers love her. They'll be back. Lou will be here.
