(1) As the world becomes smaller and the economies of different countries become interrelated, it is more and more important for people to learn a second or even a third language. (2) Although many people see language learning as an incredibly difficult task, it doesn't have to be. (3) There are many different approaches to language learning, and you should choose the one that is right for you. (4) There are a number of criteria to consider when deciding how to learn a language. (5) Some of these are the level of proficiency you would like to achieve and the amount of time you have to reach that goal. (6) Most importantly, you should consider your personality and learning style. (7) Are you a social learner, a problem solver, a structured learner, or an active learner? (8) Most of us are a combination of the four types, and most approaches to language learning incorporate all of them. (9) However, different methods emphasize different activities and have different expectations of the learners and their teachers.
