Many people believed the curse on Tutankhamen's tomb. When Carter arrived home on the day that he found the tomb, he was met by his servant. He reported that Carter's pet canary had been killed by a snake. The man told Carter that he believed that the pharaoh's snake ate the bird because Carter had disturbed the tomb.
