Temporary Solutions: Creating a Memo From a Template
Temporary Solutions is a placement agency that provides local
businesses with highly skilled temporary employees. In this
exercise, you assume the role of Barb Pietro, head of accounting,
and create a memo using the "Elegant Memo" template. - To launch the template:
CHOOSE: File, New CLICK: "General Templates" hyperlink in the Task Pane CLICK:
Memos
tab DOUBLE-CLICK: Elegant Memo - Click on the top line next to "TO:" where it says "Click
here and type name"
- TYPE: All Accounting Department Employees
- Complete the memo so that it includes the details
below:
From: Barb Pietro Subject: General Ledger Change cc: Tony Maric Delete the heading "How to Use This Template" and the
paragraph that comes below it. PRESS:  (50.0K) twice to
reposition the insertion point. - Type the following text:
Office supplies that are intended for use in conjunction
with a computer (floppy disks, printer ribbons, etc.) are now
to be expensed under new account code 500-785-600, "IT
Supplies". This policy will go into effect at the beginning
of the next cycle. New document templates will be distributed
by the end of the week. Please follow the instructions
provided very carefully or call the help desk for
assistance. - Save the document as "New Account Memo" to your personal
storage location. At this point, the memo should appear similar
to Figure 1.2.

you will assume the role of Jan as she edits and saves a letter
to a client. - Open the WD01XTRA01 data file.
- Save the document as "Mitchell Letter" to your personal
storage location.
- Change the court date to read July 20.
DOUBLE-CLICK: the "19" in the date. TYPE: 20 - Add the following paragraph to the document. Before typing,
position the insertion point at the end of the second paragraph
(to the right of the word "Thompson.")
- PRESS:

make a plea at this time. We cannot stall any longer.
