Case Problems Ch04 (28.0K)Case Problems: Yard Smart Designs

Now that Mark is pretty proficient in the use of Word’s various formatting and editing tools, he wants to create new documents and templates for his business. Assume the role of Mark and perform the same steps he would perform to complete these tasks.

  1. Mark decides to revamp the fax cover sheet for Yard Smart Designs. He opens the WD04XTRA02 data file and saves it as "New Fax". He deletes the text "FAX" as it seems redundant. He then re-formats the text to match the example shown in Figure 4.5. He saves the document.

  3. Mark wants to design an advertisement for Yard Smart Designs. The dimensions for the advertisement are 3 inches wide and 2 inches tall. Mark adjusts the margins accordingly and creates the advertisement shown in Figure 4.6. He previews and prints his new document and then saves it as "Yard Smart Ad". Keep the document open for the next exercise.

  5. Mark wants to use his advertisement as the basis for a placeholder page on the Web. He saves the file as a Web page called "Web Ad" to his personal storage location. Word warns him that the double border will appear as a single border and he clicks OK. He reformats the text to appear similar to Figure 4.7. He saves his Web page and then previews it in his Web browser. He then closes the Web browser.
