Exercise #1

  1. Open the student data file, create 8A.ppt and save it as Glossary W.ppt.
  2. Select the text PowerPoint 2002 on the first slide and insert a hyperlink to the address www.mhhe.com/cit/apps/laudon. Set a custom screen tip that says Web site for textbook. Insert a hyperlink from the first two glossary terms of Slide 2 to their respective slides in the presentation.
  3. Start a slide show and take minutes and assign one action item.
  4. Activate the Pack and Go Wizard, and package the active presentation to a convenient location. Include linked files and embed TrueType fonts. Do not include the PowerPoint Viewer. Save and close Glossary W.ppt.
  5. Open a new presentation using the Financial Overview Template. Change the company name and the logo text. Publish the presentation using the default page title to a local folder such as My Documents.
  6. Open the create8A.ppt and send it to a four people using a routing slip. Specify that a status mail be sent to you after each person send the presentation to the next person on the routing slip. Include a message stating that the deadline for the presentation to be returned with comments is two weeks from the sent date.

  1. Open the student data file, create 8B.ppt and save it as Glossary H.ppt.
  2. Insert a hyperlink from the first glossary term of Slide 2 to its respective slide in the presentation. Set a custom screen tip that says the link will take you to the definition. Insert a hyperlink for the second term on Slide 2 to a web address (make one up).
  3. Start a slide show and take minutes and assign one action item.
