In 1991, Ishmael, a "novel" of anthropological philosophy by Daniel Quinn, was awarded the Turner Tomorrow Fellowship. This award of $500,000 was given by Ted Turner, Founder of CNN and Turner Network Television and Time Magazine's 1991 Man of the Year, for a book offering creative solutions to global problems. Ishmael is an excellent starting place for any undergraduate interested in global perspectives on multiculturalism and tolerance. This website provides an entry into the world of Ishmael and Quinn's other writings, and the global Internet community that has developed because of Quinn's work. |
