1		Many third world countries continue to use DDT to control crop pests and mosquitoes. Do you think the United Nations should impose a worldwide ban on the use of this insecticide?



2		The use of DDT was banned in the United States. Many farmers would like to be allowed to use DDT on a limited basis. Do you think this is a good idea? Why or why not?



3		Many scientists would like to increase crop yields by means of genetic engineering, which can make plants resistant to most pest species and so reduce the need for insecticide spraying. Where do you stand on this issue?
