Sample Graphs

Graphs and sample statistics for three data sets are presented in this section and the "Sample Statistics" section.

Data Set 1

These are the starting salaries earned by a recent graduating class from the University of Florida. These data are used to illustrate the graphs and statistics that are commonly employed for a single quantitative variable.

Data Set 2

These are the average state per-student education expenditures and teacher salaries in 1992. The data are used to illustrate graphs and statistical analysis of two related quantitative variables.

Data Set 3

These data were collected as part of a British study of the relationship of snoring to other medical conditions. Snoring and heart disease variables are included to illustrate graphs and statistical analyses of categorical variables.
