Chapter 13: The Evolution Of Behavior

  1. You should understand the cultural behaviors have practical value and meaning. You should be familiar with the discussions from both views, namely that ideas guide behaviors or the behaviors guide ideas.

  2. You should be aware of the role biology has on culture and culture has on biology. You should know the arguments on both ends of the spectrum, are we mainly biological creatures or mainly cultural creatures?

  3. You should be able to look at the world views of both the Dani and the Fore and discuss how those world views translate into behaviors.
