  1. Select at least three articles by syndicated columnists from a newspaper that address similar issues. Go through the articles and compare their points of view, applying some of the analytical thinking criteria presented in Chapter One of this Study Guide.
  2. Make note of some of the most commonly read news magazines in your household including those that you favor. In the library reference section find Magazines for Libraries and look of the ideological rating for the magazines you have selected to review.
  3. Apply the analytical thinking format from Chapter One of this Study Guide to a discussion of the article "Mideast Turmoil" by Felicity Barringer at the end of Chapter Ten.
