Axis  Line that contains a measurement by which you compare plotted values.
Categories  Organizes values in a data series.
Category names  Correspond to worksheet text you use to label data.
Chart area  Area in which all chart elements reside.
Chart sheet  Chart on a separate sheet.
Chart title  Labels the entire chart.
Charts  Sometimes called graphs, they are a graphical representation of data.
Data label  Value or name assigned to an individual data point.
Data marker  Graphic representation of the value of a data point in a chart.
Data points  Values that comprise a data series.
Data series  Set of values that you want to chart.
Embedded chart  Chart on a worksheet near the data you are charting.
Gridlines  Extensions of tick marks that help identify the value of the data markers.
Hide (data)  Reduce a row's height to zero.
Label text  Chart text such as tick mark labels, category axis labels, and data series names.
Legend  Indicates which data marker represents each series when you chart multiple series.
Plot area  Rectangular area bounded by the X-axis on the left and the Y-axis on the bottom.
Selection handles  Small white squares that appear around an object that is selected.
Series in  Option that establishes the way the data series is represented-either by rows or by columns.
Sizing handles  See selection handles.
Stacked bar chart  Subtype of the bar chart, combines the data markers in a data series together to form one bar, placing each marker at the end of the preceding one in the same data series.
Tick marks  Small lines, similar to marks on a ruler, that are uniformly spaced along each axis and identify the position of category names or values.
X-axis  Contains markers denoting category values.
X-axis title  Briefly describes the X-axis categories.
Y-axis  Contains the value of data being plotted.
Y-axis title  Identifies the values being plotted on the Y-axis.
