Bitmap  A type of image composed of small dots of color. Also called a raster image.
Clip art  Drawings that can be added to documents, including those in the Microsoft Media Gallery.
Control boxes  The gray boxes above and to the left of the cells in a datasheet that are used to select rows and columns.
Cycle diagram  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show cyclical processes such as the water cycle.
Data series  The numbers of one group to be graphed in the same color or line. For example, the total sales values for each month of the year would be a data series.
Data value  The contents of one cell in a datasheet.
Datasheet  The rows and columns that hold the data for Microsoft Graph.
Drawn pictures  A type of image created using calculated shapes so that they have small file sizes and resize well. Also called vector graphics.
Embedded  A method of placing a copy of an image or other objects into a document with no connection to the original file.
Keywords  Descriptive words used to locate clips in the media gallery.
Linked  When a link to an external file is used to display its contents in a PowerPoint presentation. For example, a linked voice narration file is separate from the presentation. A method of displaying images and other objects in a document using a link to the original file.
Organization chart  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show hierarchical relationships such as the management structure of an organization.
Pyramid diagram  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show foundational relationships like progressive levels of mathematics.
Radial diagram  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show multiple relationships to a central element like multiple reports generated from the same data.
Raster image  A type of image composed of small dots of color. Also called a bitmap.
Rotation handle  The green handle above a selected image that will allow you to rotate the image.
Target diagram  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show steps toward a goal.
Vector graphics  A type of image created using calculated shapes so that they have small file sizes and resize well. Also called drawn pictures.
Venn diagram  One of the diagrams available in Microsoft PowerPoint that is used to show overlapping relationships like two sets of data that share some values.
X-axis  The axis of a chart that identifies the data values of a series. For example, the days of the week. Usually the horizontal axis.
Y-axis  The axis of a chart that quantifies the values being charted.
