Adjustment handles  The gold handles on a selected object that allow the prominent feature of the object to be adjusted. Not all objects can be adjusted.
Color scheme  The palette that controls default color values for the slide background, body text, lines, shadows, title text, fills, hyperlinks, and accents.
Grids  Evenly spaced lines that display on the slide to help size and align objects. Grids are controlled from the Draw menu of the Drawing toolbar and do not display or print with the slide show.
Grouping  The ability to combine multiple objects into a single object. Grouped objects can be manipulated as one object or each component can have individual properties set.
Guides  User positioned lines that display on the slide to help size and align objects.
Intrinsic color schemes  Color schemes that are shipped with a particular PowerPoint template.
Matting  Placing a solid background behind text to differentiate it more clearly from a busy background.
Palette  The selection of available colors that displays on color menus. Custom colors can be added to the palette.
Regroup  Causing ungrouped objects to become a group or single object again.
Rotation handle  The green handle of a selected object that slows the object to be rotated by dragging.
Ungroup  Returning a grouped object to its original state of individual objects.
Z-order  The order that objects are stacked in as they are added to a slide. The first object added is closest to the slide.
