Chapter 15-Dramatic Structure: Climactic, Episodic, and Other forms
  1. Go to the online version of the Complete Works of William Shakespeare at http://the-tech.mit.edu/Shakespeare/. Read King Lear. After reading the play, return to the characteristics of Episodic structure and see how well the play fits. Where does it fit? Where does it differ?
  2. Go to http://www.google.com and look up the titles of some of the plays Wilson uses to illustrate climactic structure. While you will not be able to find full-text versions of the plays, you should be able to locate plot summaries. Look at the summaries and see how the plays conform to the characteristics of climactic structure. Where do they fit and where do they differ? Could any of these plays also be classified as a combination of both episodic and climactic?
  3. Visit the site The Blue Quill at http://www.gabwhacker.com/xwp/bluequill/.
