Neapolitan Chord  A major triad constructed on the lowered second scale degree. The name derives from an important group of eighteenth-century opera composers who were associated with the city of Naples.
Neapolitan Sixth Chord  Another name for the Neapolitan triad due to fact that it is usually found in the first inversion.
