United Cerebral Palsy (UCP)
This webpage, which links to the parenting and families resources page of the UCP Web site, contains a list of organizations and support groups that serve people with severe and other disabilities. There is a description of each organization/group with a description of its mission. The parenting and families webpage of UCP also has links to a substantial number of resources that cover a wide variety of topics.

Helen Keller Services for the Blind
This Web site includes information about programs for children, adults, and seniors with visual and hearing impairments. The Web site also has a link to the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind youths and adults. This center provides classes and educational programs for people with deaf-blindness as well as resources and in-service opportunities for families and professionals.

TASH
TASH is the most visible organization for and by people with severe disabilities in the U.S. The Web site includes information for families as well as educators. There are lists of publications, conferences, resources, and links to other sources of information.

National Joint Committee for the Communication Needs of Persons with Severe Disabilities
The National Joint Committee for the Communication Needs of Persons with Severe Disabilities (NJC) promotes research, demonstration, and educational efforts, including both in-service and pre-service, directed to helping persons with severe disabilities communicate effectively. This webpage includes links to information about and strategies for providing communication skill development for persons with severe disabilities.
