Getting Away From It All

There is nothing as relaxing as being on vacation, but the process of planning a vacation takes alot of effort. The process begins with scheduling time when you can be away from work or from school. Talk to your boss about taking time off from work or plan your trip during a school holiday. Once you have chosen the dates for your trip, you need to decide where to go. The best thing to do at this stage is to go to a travel agent. He or she can recommend exciting or exotic destinations. He or she will also have information on special deals for airfare and hotels. Furthermore, once you have decided on a destination, the travel agent will be able to book your tickets, process your visa, and make your hotel reservations. Be sure to tell your friends and family when you will be out of town. Call the newspaper to stop it from being delivered, and ask a friend to pick up your mail for you. Most importantly, leave plenty of time for packing--it often takes longer then you expect! Think carefully about what you will need once you arrive at your destination. If it is warm, think about bringing things like sunscreen and a bathing suit. If it is cold, be sure to pack extra sweaters and a hat and gloves. Once your schedule is set, your tickets are purchased and your bags are packed, you are ready to go on vacation--and relax!
