Physical Experiments Sample
Physical Experiments in Thermodynamics:
Created by Professor Ronald Mullisen in the Mechanical Engineering Department at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, these experiments--complete with videos, write ups, and data sets--make it possible to bring actual physical experiments
into the classroom. Tied to key topics in the text, these lab demonstration videos
illustrate thermodynamic principles, properties, and processes.
Each experiment contains a short video clip, a complete write-up – including historical background, and actual data in an EXCEL file. The results are also provided, but restricted for instructor use. After viewing the video and reading the write-up the student will be ready to reduce the data and obtain results that directly connect with material presented in the chapters.
Below, you will find sample files for Experiment 9, First Law of Thermodynamics – Bicycle Braking. (12.0K) (16.0K) (15.0K)Experiment 9 write-up
