  1. Go to the National Council for Science and the Environment - http://www.noaa.gov/. Select "The Weather" and then select "National Warnings." Peruse this site.
    1. How many different national warnings did you see? Why is this site constantly being updated?
    2. Where are the different types of warnings (tornado, etc.) located? Can you relate the location of these warnings to concepts from the text?
  2. Go to the Weather Underground site at http://www.weatherunderground.com and click anywhere on the small world map to get global temperatures. Pick one continent, other than North America, and look at the temperature pattern.
    1. Does the pattern you see relate to the world climate map in Figure 4.33?
    2. What physical features (mountains, deserts, etc.) can you identify on the temperature map?
  3. Go to the World Climate site at http://www.worldclimate.com/ and type in a foreign city of your choice.
    1. Print out the graph below. Using the temperature and precipitation data provided, construct your own climagraph for that city.
    2. To what climate category (A, B, C, etc.) does your city belong?
