Self-Assessment
(See related pages)

In Chapter 4's Self-Assessment, you visited the Department of Labor's Occupational Information Network (O*NET) to look up the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for your current or "dream" job. As the network continues to analyze these jobs, it is adding information about each job's requirements for experience, training, and education. In this Self-Assessment, you will look up that information for the job you researched in the Self-Assessment for Chapter 4.

Return to the O*NET website ( http://online.onetcenter.org ), and click on Find Occupations. Use the links under Browse by Job Family to look up the listing for your current job or dream job. Click on the link for JobZone. (If there is no link to JobZone or to information on experience, training, and education, this job has not yet been analyzed. Go back to Browse by Job Family, and find a similar job that has been analyzed.)

List the training and education requirements for the job you selected. How many of those requirements can you meet already? For which of these requirements would you expect the employer to provide training? For which requirements would you have to obtain the training on your own?
