1. The Center for Nonverbal Research has an online collection of descriptions, explanations, and illustrations of many nonverbal terms and behaviors. The website is located at http://members.aol.com/nonverbal2/index.htm. Most of the entries in the collection are fascinating, but the following ones are especially interesting: body adornment, deception cues, eye-blink, love signals, lips, swagger walk, and tongue-show. When and where might you use these nonverbal messages? How might these definitions be influenced by culture?

2. For an extensive list of cultural differences in gestures and other body kinesics, check out the website http://www.csupomona.edu/~tassi/gestures.htm. What are some differences in typical Western and Asian gestures? How do other parts of the world interpret American gestures?

3. There are several good sites with extensive lists of unique and interesting emoticons, including: http://www.muller-godschalk.com/emoticon.html and http://www.cknow.com/ckinfo/emoticons.htm. Which emoticons on this list would you use? Why?
