How do you interpret the show staged by Hamlet in Act III, scene ii? Who do you think the "other man" represents?

When the ghost appears to Hamlet in Act III, scene iv, Hamlet's mother Gertrude does not see it. What stage directions indicate the arrival of the ghost? How does the dialogue reveal that Gertrude cannot see the ghost?

What do you think of Gertrude? Is she an innocent victim, or a schemer? Is she complicit in her husband's death? Does Hamlet interrogate her in a way that assumes her guilt or innocence?
