In an effort to assist educators, counselors, parents, and students, the U.S. Department of Education has established 16 career clusters. Each cluster represents entry-level through professional-level occupations within a broad industry category. Each cluster includes the academic training, technical skills, and professional knowledge necessary for the pursuit of a career within that particular cluster. The 16 career clusters provide an ideal organizational tool for assisting students in the development of future occupational goals.
