Neoclassicism in music represents a return to the structures and styles of the past. Neoclassicist composers such as Stravinsky and Hindemith rebelled against the Impressionists. Artists such as Picasso and the poet T.S. Elliot contributed to the Neoclassic movement as well, though their inspiration from Greek art and literature culminated in work with a decidedly twentieth-century flair.
